How to Thank Your Clients During The Holidays
We’re well into the holiday season (Christmas is only 15 days away!) and as we begin to look ahead to the new year, it is important to take the time to express our appreciation and thank your clients.
Throughout your career as a personal trainer, you’ll notice that most clients will prove to be incredibly enjoyable to work with, so take this opportunity to show them just how happy you are to have them in your life and in your business.
Even clients that haven’t trained with you in a while will appreciate being reminded of their health and fitness goals, in addition to the fact that you’re keeping them in mind.
Here are a few different ways to thank your clients for their trust in your expertise and continued business.
Thank your Clients with an “On the House”
If you have a client that has been training with you for years, you may consider how much they have budgeted for your services at that time and feel like returning the favor. If you can afford to do so, privately let them know that their next training session is on you, and invite them to bring a friend (that way you have built-in an opportunity to earn a new client as well).
Offer a Discount or Deal
If offering an entire session for free is not in the cards for your business financially, don’t feel the pressure to do so! But, if you are set on giving some sort of discount, you can figure out a way to give your clients a holiday “thank you” discount. For example, you can put together a BOGO code, or increase the benefits of a client referral.
Don’t Break the Bank with Your Thanks
If cost is an issue, it’s easy enough to thank your clients with a simple card as a reminder of the relationship you’ve got with the client. Some low-priced stationery and a few stamps will go a long way towards keeping you at the top of your clients’ minds. Feel free to get creative. If you work with other trainers, send a group photo in the form of a holiday postcard
Or, you can just pick up the phone and call to say “Happy Holidays!”
The Gift of Studio Swag
Do you have promotional items like T-shirts, tank-tops, hoodies, towels, and water bottles, with your company logo that no one’s buying? This is a great opportunity to clear up some of that space and pass your unbought merch out to your clients. Your clients will be excited to have a new shirt or towel that they can drench in hard-earned sweat.
Token of Your Gratitude
If you run a small studio or only manage a handful of clients that you know very well, and altruism is your thing, you may consider looking for small, personalized gifts that you know each client would personally appreciate.
Here are a few nutrition and fitness related gift ideas:
- A gift card to a local cafe or smoothie bar
- Subscription to a fitness publication/magazine
- Yoga mat
- Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle
- Digital Pedometer or Heart Rate Monitor
- Weightlifting Gloves
You could do any or all of the above to show your appreciation and thank your clients. It’s best to sit down with your team and discuss the best way to do customer appreciation. Choose from the ideas above or come up with your own. Client appreciation during the holidays is important but it doesn’t have to be expensive or overly time-consuming. Have fun with it!
