Prerequisites: A personal trainer or sports conditioning-type certification is preferred, but NOT required.

Introduction: In order to talk about programming, we have to talk about whom we are programming for. It’s important that you are devising training that is on par with what your client or athlete requests, not just what you think is best for them. In this module you will learn The 5 Categories of Fitness Clients. 6 Categories of Group Training and how metabolic training fits into these categories
Module 1 – What is Metabolism – In this module you will learn everything you need to know about metabolism, the science and research behind how it relates to our bodies. YOU learn about energy systems, components that determine your metabolism, muscle fibers that effect metabolism and more
Module 2 – Introduction to Metabolic Training – In this module you will learn what Metabolic Training is and the science behind why it’s so powerful to use with your clients and athletes. You will also learn the most common types of metabolic training.
Module 3 – Metabolic Science and Why it Works – In this module, we will look at the scientific proof behind why metabolic training works for helping your clients burn fat, build muscle and improve cardio conditioning performance. You will understand how metabolic workouts invoke EPOC, HGH, Testosterone and improve cardiovascular system
Module 4 – Programming Metabolic Training – By this point, you should have a pretty firm understanding of what metabolic training is and why it’s an important style of exercise to incorporate into your clients programs.
In this section, I’m going to go over how to incorporate metabolic training into your training programs in order to reap maximum results without overtraining your clients. YOU will discover the variables that need to be taken when programming metabolic workouts. Programming 101 will also be discussed in this module.
Module 5 – Timed Intervals – When figuring out your metabolic training program, one thing that you’ll definitely want to consider is timed intervals. In this module you will discover the benefits behind using timed intervals when creating your metabolic and high intensity workouts. You will learn how to use timed based interval training and the different types of timed intervals you need to consider when programming
Module 6 – Rep Based Intervals – In the previous module, we spoke about how you can go about timed based intervals on a metabolic training workout. The second way you can structure these workouts is through rep based training. In this module you will learn and understand how to program rep based metabolic workouts into your training program. You will also discover the 5 best rep based metabolic workouts.
MODULE 7 – Work Periods – As you go about getting geared up to deliver your metabolic training workouts to the clients you are working with, it’s important that you come to an understanding about the various energy systems that are going to come into play.
By gaining this understanding of the energy systems and how they are connected to the type of exercise being performed and the work period you will need use when creating your metabolic workouts.
Certain work periods will be more favorable for example to help your client burn fat, while other work intervals will be better attuned to helping them maximize their cardiovascular power output. Learn how to manipulate the work periods in your training program to achieve your clients goals.
MODULE 8 – Rest Periods
The next topic we need to cover in this guide to metabolic training is rest periods. You now know all about reps, sets, and timed intervals, but how does the rest you take between all this factor in? You will learn and understand the factors and how to incorporate rest periods into your circuits, workouts and training sessions. You will also discover the different rest period breakdowns and when best to utilize them in your workouts.
Module 9 – Workout Durations – As you go about designing the workout routines for the clients you’ll be working with, one thing that you need to take into account is the workout duration. How long should each workout be? IN this module you will learn about how to the right sets and rounds you should be using to get the optimal results for your clients and athletes. You will discover the power of supersets in metabolic training and learn the ultimate workout duration windows you need to program in order to get specific results.
Module 10 – Exercise Selection – When creating your metabolic training programs, exercise selection is going to be a key part of the overall programming process. To make informed exercises selections, you must understand the nature of the various types of exercises, the movement and muscular requirements, the level of your clients, the equipment available, the timing and well as a few other factors that will play a role in this decision. It is not one to take lightly.
In this module we will dissect how to ensure that you are choosing the right exercises for the right goal, client and outcome you are looking to reach.
Module 11 – Determining Levels and Progression – It’s important that you always keep in mind at all times as you go about your training practice that you have different levels of clients that you will be training. Therefore, your approach is going to need to change with each type of client you are working with. You’ll be likely be working with beginner, intermediate as well as advanced trainees. Your goal as a trainer and coach is to ensure that your clients are always moving through models of progression, getting stronger and more fit as time goes on. If progression is lacking in a program, not only will results not be seen, but it’s also highly likely that your client will become bored and may fall off the bandwagon entirely. Progression helps you avoid this.
In this module you will learn how to develop metabolic workouts for the different levels of clients that you have and the factors that determine both exercise and workout progressions.
Module 12 – Equipment – When it comes to metabolic workouts, equipment is key. Although it is not necessary, having a toolbox of basic and premium fitness equipment will help your client in many different ways.
Using the right equipment will help to build muscle strength, muscle size and density along with muscle endurance, it’ll help to accelerate fat loss, increase core muscle activation, improve stability, and help improve overall mobility.
Basically, the right equipment can help ensure that whatever goal your client has, they reach that goal without a problem. Module 13 – Funk Signature Metabolic Workout Breakdown – Bodyweight – It’s now time to talk about how you can put all of this information you are gathering together.
